Jerrahi Order Provides Summer 2012 Food Aid for Children of Gaza

The Culture and Free Thought Association (CFTA) selects 240 children from schools in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, who are experiencing difficulty in school to participate in two hours of tutoring (extra lessons) in CFTA's learning center. CFTA has registered teachers who go over again the most difficult subjects for the children such as science, math, English and Arabic.

While Oxfam Novib funds the educational part of the program, they do not support the nutrition section of the program. On May 23, 2012, the Jerrahi Order transferred funds to CFTA to provide the 240 children from Khan Younis schools with daily lunches over the summer. Almost all of the children are from very poor families and many live in refugee camps, so this meal is one that they might otherwise not have at all.
